Character & Mascot Design
A brand character or mascot is an original illustrated figure that represents your brand, with its own personality, look, and set of poses. Done right, it gives you a memorable, ownable face that works across your site, app, social, packaging, and campaigns, and stays consistent because it ships with clear rules for how to use it.

What it is
What is a brand mascot or character?
A brand character or mascot is a custom illustrated figure created to represent a brand, with a consistent design, a personality, and a defined way of moving through poses and expressions. It can be a literal mascot, a friendly app companion, a recurring spokes-character, or a stylized figure that simply embodies the brand's tone.
Brands use a character to feel human, to be remembered, and to hold attention across channels, since a recurring figure is far stickier than a logo alone. It is not a fit for every brand: if you only need a one-off illustration, an icon set, or a logo, a full character with guidelines is more than you need, and we will say so before you spend on it.

Why it matters
Why a character works
A well-built character gives a brand a face people remember, used consistently and owned outright.
Memorable brand face
A recurring character is easier to remember and recognize than a logo on its own.
Consistent everywhere
A pose set and usage guide keep the character on-model across every channel and team.
An ownable asset
A custom character is uniquely yours, unlike stock illustration anyone else can license.
Who this is best for
The right fit
Best fit when
Brands that want a memorable, human face for their product, app, or marketing, and teams ready to reuse one character consistently rather than commissioning art piece by piece.
You might not need this
If you only need a single illustration or a logo rather than a reusable character, a full character system is more than you need, and our custom illustration service fits a one-off better. A logo belongs with brand identity, not here, and we do not make physical costume mascots: our characters are digital and illustrated.
FAQs
Common questions about character and mascot design
Do I really need a mascot for my brand?
Not always. A mascot earns its cost when you want a human, memorable presence across channels, a friendly guide in an app or onboarding flow, or a character that can carry campaigns over time. If your brand is more minimal or you only need occasional illustration, a logo plus custom illustration is usually enough, and we will tell you honestly which one fits.
What do I actually receive at the end?
You receive the final character design as production-ready files, a set of poses, angles, and expressions, and a usage guide covering the persona, colors, rules, and voice. The files are layered and scalable so your team can place the character across web, app, social, and print without redrawing it. We agree the exact pose and file list with you up front.
Will the character be animated?
The character design itself is delivered as still artwork built to be on-model and reusable. Animating it is separate motion work with its own process and budget, and we design the character so it is ready to animate later if you want that. We will point you to the right motion path when you need it.
Is this a digital character or a physical costume?
We design digital, illustrated characters and mascots: the artwork, poses, persona, and usage rules a brand uses online, in apps, and in marketing. We do not manufacture physical mascot costumes. If you need a wearable costume built, that is a specialist production service, separate from this.
Can the character work in both 2D and 3D?
Yes. A character can be designed in flat 2D, rendered in 3D for a more dimensional look, or both, depending on where you will use it. We recommend the approach during the brief based on your channels and budget, since 3D adds cost and time but reads as more premium.
How long does mascot design take?
Most of the time goes into concepts and refinement, where your feedback shapes the final direction, followed by building the pose set and the usage guide. Timelines depend on how many concepts and poses you need and how fast reviews happen. We give you a clear schedule with the quote, before any work starts.
